Bathroom at home is now finished, so finally I have some time for spending on the allotment.
I have decided not to take on the plot above mine, I figured that I only have enough time to look after the one I've got maintained to a good standard, and rather then have a big messy plot I'd prefer a smaller neat plot! There is now a waiting list for the plots anyway, so soon, fingers crossed, someone will be digging the jungle over!
Managed to get to the Plot both Saturday and Sunday this weekend... a record for 2007 so far, so got quite a few productive hours in. All beds were dug over, onions/garlick weeded, moved a couple of fruit bushes that didnt do much last year, weeded, seperated and replanted the strawberyy patch and had a general tidy up on the plot... and the shed. Even managed to paint my shed on Sunday.. a job that Ive been meaning to do for about 12-months now!!!
With the good weather I was really quite amazed to see how busy the allotment was... almost every plot seemed to have someone buzzing about on it, and all are looking really quite neat and well tendered now! Lots of newbies hacking back the weeds with red faces... and loads of new sheds and greenhouses popping up now that the security fence has been finished!
Fingers crossed next weekend I am picking up a load of scaffolding boards which I intend to put to good use, and my mum and dad have lifted a load of paving slabs they say I can have. Plan for these is to level an area at the top of the plot facing the shed and get myself a greenhouse...
In the meantime though Ive got my onion sets waiting to go in, maincrop and second earlys chitting in the garage, tomato seeds sprouting in the spare room and a pile of seed trays just waiting to be put to good use!

You do sounds busy. I don't know how you managed to dig all the beds - did you use a rotavator or something. We're lucky if we can do one bed in a weekend - we're about half the way through now.
Well done with all you've managed to get done. As you say Good Friday is the official start of the growing season! Whey hey.
hey Dug, I'm hoping to get a new lottie neighbour soon too - they have only been up there twice in all the time I've had mine. Its a real state. I was tempted to take it on for a while, but like you I've not really got the time to manage two - tempting though !
Hope you are keeping well
